Molokai Rural Health Community Association

Molokai Rural Health Community Association (MRHCA) is a non-profit organization, formed to focus on prioritized health needs on Molokai.  Hawaii State Rural Health Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization incorporated in 1998, is the fiscal sponsor for MRHCA.  Membership includes rural health practitioners, rural community advocates, and members of local rural health associations statewide.  MRHCA received funds from the County of Maui, Office of Economic Development (OED) to improve the health status of Molokai kupuna post Covid-19.  Additional funding was also received from County of Maui, Maui County Office on Aging (MCOA).

KUPUNA PROGRAM

With this funding, Kupuna Program was created in July 2021 to improve community health focusing on kupuna, post Covid-19, by addressing challenges and finding solutions to promote overall health and wellness. This includes physical and mental health, economic sustainability, as well as other socio-economic and social factors.
